Dress to the 9’s for Summer events

Picnic Group Shot

With the return of Summer comes more formal Summer events to attend be them graduations, weddings, Deighton Cup, Birthdays ect. There are a few things to check off your list for these kinds of events.
First how hot/ cold will it be? Do you need a parasol? A hand fan? Are you going to cry a lot? (Happy tears only pls)
Will you be on grass? AKA are you going to aerate the venues lawn for free with your heels? All these things factor in.
How big of a purse will you need? Do you need a shawl/wrap ? Will you be iced out by the venues overzealous air conditioning?
These are all things. Preparation is the key to success and all that stuff. But for real, it’s important to think of these things to allow yourself to be fully relaxed at an event.

One time I got stuck in a VERY long traditional church wedding ceremony that was stifling hot with no air circulation. And guess who was the smartest gal in the room with her hand fan? THIS GIRL!

Anyway just keep in mind all the factors of where you’re going. Moving on.

One of our favourite events is Deighton Cup one of the few events in Vancouver where you can truly dress to impress. It’s actually very freeing to be able to dress up and truly go for it. Because lets be honest in Vancouver most of the time people are severely underdressing in some sort of hiker chic look.

Parasols are everything
